This book is a basic atlas of anatomy applied to diagnostic imaging. It covers the entire human body employing all the imaging modalities used in clinical practice, including?X-ray, CT, MR, ultrasound and scintigraphy. It includes over 900 carefully selected high quality images, comprehensive anatomical interpretation that is that is drawn and labelled directly on a contact print alongside every image. The third edition contains extended coverage of MR scanning,?reflecting the great strides that have been made in this modality since the second edition. It also covers PET scanning for the first time, in recognition of the growing use of this modality. Both for medical students and doctors the book will serve as the all-round reference collection linking anatomy and modern diagnostic imaging. This book was a huge success in its first two editions and sold?about 10,000 units each time. Many users of the second edition insisted that the overall organization of the book should remain the same for the third edition, but all chapters have nevertheless been thoroughly revised. Besides basic and careful updating of technical information and images, almost every chapter now contains substantial new materials on MR and PET imaging?techniques and applications.
